That was exactly my point. I can remember some incidences of the physical abuse, but every motion, feeling, thought, time of day, weather and smell of that moment when the words were heard by my ears, is like a stain. I can verbatim word by word, hear the voice saying the words. Man... crazy...

Certainly the words from someone like a teacher would be a lot worse than a 5-10 scuffle with kid at school. Topping it off the teacher and the classroom laughed at the comment embedding the memory even deeper. I wish there was a outside source that would teach the teachers sensitivity training and how something they may seem as not a big deal can have a life long effect. With that being said im not sure how any teacher can get away with calling a kid an idiot.

I think the verbal abuse is far worse than physical abuse. Physical abuse will eventually heal and go away, but verbal, for some reason seems to come back and haunt us to the point were we believe the words said to us. Wr allow it to define us, to serve as a constant reminder that we are not who WE think we are. but yet how others see us.

I have to agree that verbal abuse is way worse than physical. Yes, anyone can be seriously be hurt by physical abuse, but I think those wounds will heal and you may never forget, but the pain won't be there. Whereas when you are verbally abused, those words haunt you for life.

I remember a lot more of the bad things that were said to me. I have been hit and punched before but the worst things I can remember were things that were said.

Physically bullying cuts the surface but verbal bullying can cut into your soul
