I can't talk for everyone, but I used to think making names up for people at school and calling them by that
name was funny. Now I think it was more a verbal abuse and emotional bullying. One instance I used to call this kid named Lenny "Stupid"- he started answering to the name and it stuck... all the kids called him Stupid.

Now am sorry I started that trend.

At least you felt remorse... most bullies don't. They laugh and feel good when they know they have hurt someone. Most kids are always trying to be accepted by their peers, so what you felt was normal. Did you continue to bully? Or was this the only incident?

I was following the crowd and didn't think for myself. Now I teach my kids never to bully and put themselves in the place of the person who they may be thinking about bullying.

I never bullied but I do remember the first time I was bullied. I was in 2nd grade and I had a cartoon shirt and some kids in my class were saying that only babies likes the cartoon I liked and they called me a baby for the rest of the year. I hated those guys and they would never leave me alone.I think everyone remembers the first time they were bullied
