fighting in school

Should there be more severe punishment for kids that fight in school? When I was in school there was a mandatory 3 day suspension that you had to serve at home if you got in a fight at school. That wasnt enough because most kids would just stay at home and watch TV on the couch. If there is a kid at school that fights with the other kids all the time should there be a harsh punishment to make an example for all of the other kids that fighting is wrong?

If a student has more than 3 fights in one year then that student has a mandatory school change. That would be a good rule to protect kids from having one bully terrorizing them their entire school year.Middle school is the time right before they start getting really bad so if you can connect with a student and convince them that fighting is not the solution you give them a chance at a good education in highschool.

Treat the fighting like its an adult and the kids will take it more seriously. When the kids see the teachers roll their eyes because of another kid fight and deal with it like a nuisance then the kids will know its not that big of a deal and not take it seriously either. This has to be almost as bad as bringing drugs or a weapon to school which both of them could get you tossed for good. There are cameras at school for a reason and if one kid starts a fight with another then the initial fight starter is thrown out for an entire month and the next one is 3 months then kicked out for good on the 3rd one. If kids know that they have to miss a month of school for one fight and still have to do all the assigned work then they will finally start taking their punishment seriously.

School police should have a school mini jail that they take kids when they fight. They check them in just like a jail and put them in uniforms too. if they are a really bad kid then they can keep them over night or for as long as they feel is apprpriate for the student. Fighting has never been able to be handled because nobody handles the student in the right way so they dont upset the parents. So parent should have to fill out a form that gives the school police the right to lock up your kid in the school jail if they are violent towards their classmates.

I agree that there should be a clear set of rules that are used at every school in the district for fighting. If you have over 15 fights in your k-12 time in school then you are unable to return to any public school in that district and your records will be sent to every school in the state so they know who you are and your record in case you change to another district. Kids that fight in school make it very hard for the other students that follow the rules to enjoy their time there. If there is a bully kid that ignores the rules and doesnt care about the consequences he or she must be seperated not only to protect the others but to show an example of what happens when you act out of control.

There should be a very detailed form to fill out every time a child is in a fight. It should explain who started and who was involved. If there is witnesses they should have to give statements about what they saw happen and pictures should be taken of visible injuries. If they document a school fight like they would a crime it would help future problems be solved quicker. If you had to have a file in your record that explained all of your fights in school it would prove or disprove if you are a bully or just getting into random fights like other kids. If you are proven to be a bully you are not allowed back into public schools you will have to finish one year at a very strict school and keep your nose clean in order for you to be allowed back into public schools. If you cannot behave then you do not go back.

1 fight and you are banned from school grounds for 10 days. That is 2 weeks in school time which will get you behind in your work and keep you away from any social school activities. If you do it again you cant come to school for 25 school days. This will disrupt your grades and your learning so now if you dont decide that fighting is destroying your ability to get an education and you fight again then you are good for good. You may no longer go to any schools in that county and will be forced to relocate and once that happens your parent or guardian will get it through to you that fighting is not tolerated.

Start building jail houses in the parking lots with double wide trailers. If they act up they have to stay in the jails overnight and cannot go home. These will make kids feel like they are more likely to be locked up so they will behave.

Sounds a bit harsh for minors to be in a school jailhouse.

Its not harsh if they have a personality disorder and need to fight every kid they get into a tiffy with.
