I think that they do enough for our kids so being police is too much to ask.

Should a teacher lose his/her job if after an investigation it is proven they were not protecting a student from bullying?

My sister was bullied in junior high and when she went to the teachers and the principal for protection they protected the bully and placed the blame on her. They said if she wasn't a target it would never happen. My parents were never allowed contact with the parents of the child who sat on her and punched her.

Just a thought.

Are you serious? Nothing happened to the bully and your sister was blamed??? Wth?! That's just horrible! Me, as a parent, I would have been up there every day until the school did something and or I caught the bullies parents. I don't understand why people place the blame on the victims. It sickens me....

I believe if they show a pattern of ignoring the bullying then yes they should be terminated for neglect of a minor.

Absolutely! If they clearly neglected to protect the child and did nothing to report or deter the behavior. They are to protect our children when our children are in their care.

Maybe there should be a system that holds the schools accountable online.. like a 3rd party website?

There should be an incident report for each bullying incident reported at a school. Then they can track and monitor each schools bullying overall and much better.

Just like the teachers are graded on their passing rate the teachers should be graded on their ability to maintain a safe environment
