Laugh at yourself

If someone tries to bring you down by calling you a name that they think will bother you there is a simple way of dealing with that, laughing at yourself. If you make a joke about yourself when they are you can diffuse the anger in the situation also. Basically you are just taking away the concept of bullying completely because if you are not bothered by the bullying there is no more incentive for the bully and your laughter and willingness to joke about yourself renders them powerless.

If you come up with the best joke about yourself then the bully will lose interest in you.

Smiling at a bully will ease the tension and let them know that you dont see them as a threat

Hard to be mad at someone who is smiling when you are trying to make them feel bad

It is simple, laughing does not equal fighting and if you can make your bully laugh with you then you avoid any conflict.

Some of the most loved people in the world were bullied when they were younger but they found out how to make the bullies laugh too and thats what gained them the confidence to come out of their shell.

Honestly if you have the character that you can laugh at your own expense you will have a really carefree life because not many people are strong enough or advanced enough to accomplish this.

I agree and was just thinking this when i saw the post. It sounds good, and stronger more confident ppl can easily ignore those kids who bully, but i think we need to find a way to give those kids who are not as strong, not as confident, who cant ignore the bullying, a way to stand up for themselves. Make it so that others around them dont join in on the bullying, but turn on the bully and stand up for the victim.
