Ask a bully "WHY"

Postby KickNitOldSco » Tue Aug 13, 2013 10:20 am

When a bully starts in on you, try asking them "why" why are they bullying you? For what reason, what good is it going to do them? What positive comes from it? Are they doing it for another reason?

Ask anything like that, to see if the bully opens up and possibly stops their actions. After you try it, post your experience back here to report the positive or negative results to possibly help other bullying victims. Good luck.

a bully would say something like because you are stupid so adults should be asking those questions

If you can talk your way out of getting bullied I would say that is great. Why not try it.

Yeah, trying to talk your way out of any situation is better than not trying anything at all.

Look them in the eyes when you ask them and try to make a human connection with them. Most bullies dont know how to feel because people dont treat them that way but if you change something then you can expect a change in them too

My little brother was being bullied at his after school daycare and when he asked them why he bullied him they told him because they dont like Mexicans and he is 6! How can kids that age already have racial hatred? Crazy!!

I really do love this advice. I think that so many bullies just want attention and something like asking them why they act the way they do might break that cycle.
