I wish that if you get into trouble at school for bullying kids then the 3rd time you get caught you are expelled from that school for harassing fellow students.

I would be nice if after the third strike they would have to take classes on bullying or they would have it on there record. For example, if a teen gets a minor in consumption, they are required to take alcohol classes in order to get it off their record when they are 18; this same idea should apply to a bully after his/her 3rd strike, only these classes would be on bully management.

MissSass,
I agree with you and disagree at the same time. I dont think they should have to do a bully class after the third strike because thats too minor for a 3rd offense. Maybe each strike should be a different and harsher punishment. 1st strike is the bully classes so it will deter any aggressive behavior for the first offense. 2nd strike should be harsher because now you have taken a class and still conduct the same behavior so im thinking a longer stay in the program and maybe some form of community service but instead of doing it for the city you do it for your school plus are given an assignment on the lessons you learned in the bully program and must pass a test before being allowed dismissal. This way you not only have been trained but proven that you understand bullying completely and how wrong it is. The 3rd strike I cant figure if it should be the expulsion or just a severe suspension with maybe a short visit at opportunity school. Having clear and direct forms of punishment and education for the bully program is key before it is even made available in the school district. Maybe even have this program become a federal funding project so it is taken more seriously and becomes a permanent program in school nation wide.

What if you come from a smaller area where there is only one option for that age group of schooling? Does that child who is a bully go without an education?

Sometimes kids just dont fully understand how bad their actions disturb the people around them. Instead of trying to be productive they have anger and need to take it out on others. These kids would have no place to learn if you only get 3 strikes. # should be plenty for kids that have decent lives but they kid who has to fight for his plate of dinner and wonder where he is going to sleep will be more likely to bully kids. Does this make them a problem child or just a product of their environment? I think with 3 strikes and your out some kids that could have a future will be tossed aside because they are at a place in their life where they cannot b controlled. This is when I professional must step in so they can try a more aggressive approach that would be more likely best for their particular case. Perhaps before the 3rd strike is given there are a multitude of options if you think the kid is not too far set in their ways and can be helped with counseling.

Is a child who suffers from severe psychological, verbal, and physical abuse at home able to clean up their act in just 3 instances? You are asking a lot from a child that already has trouble with authority at home and has probably lost faith in adults all together. Therapy is the only solution for a bully not punishment.

I think that when a child in uncontrolable then you need to seperate them from other once they become violent. Its not fair to the kids that are well behaved to keep a student around that is hurting others. 3 strikes is enough for me.

3 strikes is more than enough. I dont care where you grew up if you cant come to conclusion that fighting is not allowed by the 3rd time then you dont deserve to sit in the classroom with the students that are there to learn. School is a priviledge not a right.

Maybe in that circumstance you only suspend the student for one year but if the do it again then they are done in that school for good. We have to send the message to the future generations that there is a no tollerance policy for violence.

Is this baseball or school??? You cannot give each kid the same set of rules because they dont all play on the same level ground. That is why this is such a sensitive subject because nobody really knows how to deal with bullying in the PC world that we live in today. Its hard to make a set guide that everyone can fall under.
