public humiliation

So many bullies are worried about what their peers think of them so in my opinion if you have a bully at the school then you should punish them in front of their peers so they are burdened in the same way as the victim, by being humiliated in front of their peers. Some times when the shoe is on the other foot they finally understand.

So are you suggesting something like in the early days of locking them in a rack and letting the other kids throw rotten fruit and vegetables at them?

Now you know that would never happen. More like the dean or prinicipal makes unannounced visits to their classrooms to check on their behavior and does it in a way so the other students know that they are being watched closely because they have shown disruptive behavior. Also kids feel free for the few minutes that they take walking to their next class but if you are labeled a bully then you have to be escorted from class to class so everyone knows that you are in trouble and cannot have any free time because you abuse it.

Sometimes a little humilation is the trick to make a kid stop messing with others. Especially when image is everything you can make them want to change.

That wouldnt work if it was the type of kid that thrives off any attention good or bad its all the same to them.

I think all kids dont want to be pointed out for doing the wrong thing so I wouldnt worry about someone enjoying that attention.

Absolutely works! This would work really well in middle school when being cool is everything at that age.

There have been studies done that say that mentally if you are bullied in public it can have greater long term affects on you. This should be similar for the bully if he or she is called out in public and made to be a spectacle they might find this embarrassing and curb their bullying ways.

Is it ok to publicly shame a kid? Will these cause more harm than good?
