This is the number one reason why kids take their own life, because they feel all alone.

This is absolutely true. We need to let our kids know that what they are going through is important to us, just as it is to them. We need to let them know we are here, they are not alone, and that we will get through this together. My first business would be to address the issue with the school and follow up to make sure things have not gotten worse and that the bully was handled. I would never want my child to take their life because of another kid bullying them. I don't ever want my child to feel alone.

We need to remember too that kids take some of the most simple issues to heart. so we need to be paying attention to what they say an how they say, and understand the feeling associated with it. A simple boyfriend break up is traumatizing for the moment and there is no telling what they will do. We all remember that first heartbreak, that feeling, and how intense it was. Don't take your kids small problems lightly.

Seriously, just like that commercial where the girl went crazy when her mom washed her jeans. She said he life was over!! I know its not funny, but seriously, they get a pimple, and the world is about to end.

How would you feel if you blew them off and then the last time you get to hear their thoughts is through a suicide note?

Good point, we sometimes think what they are going through isn't a big deal but is a very big deal to them so show some empathy because we have ALL been there
