Listen carefully

Have advice for parents of a bullied kid? What can they do? How can they help?

Ill ask until they get mad! If I feel I'm not getting answers, I send in my sister and bro in law and the younger siblings to investigate. Amazing what they can dig up for you!!!

Thats why you keep family around so they can give you the dirt on whats really going on since sometimes your own kids think of you as the bad guy.Sometimes you have to be the bad guy in order to raise them right.

Good technique sometimes you are better off letting someone get the info they are holding back

And tell them how you deal with it as an adult so they feel a little better not not alone

If i see my kids bullying each other, or another kid on a play date, I tell them right then and there, and call thema bully. They don't like that, so I ask them how they can correct their behavior. When the have fixed it, I tell them they are no longer a bully. I hear them come down to me or their dad and say 'such and such is being a bully". We will ask them how they came to that conclusion and then ask how they could give ideas to incorporate to fix the behavior. It usually is the sharing of the tv, or game system, or sharing the toys. I think this helps them to see the behavior of a bully and what they can do to fix that behavior.
