Sara Cox is an English broadcaster, best known for presenting the The Radio 1 Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 1 between 2000 and 2003. She now covers for Fearne Cotton, who is on maternity leave, weekdays 10am-12.45pm.
"Most of the lads I hung around with at home were friends. I was kind of bullied by girls at school. I'd be upset and some days I didn't want to go to school, I'd be crying. By the time I began studying for my A-levels, I started hanging out with a group of lads. We're still friends now.
"I found it easier with the lads because you'd see them one day and they'd still be speaking to you the next, whereas with girls you didn't know if they'd want to know you or not."
