BOSTON (AP) — A former Concord-Carlisle High School student who says she was mercilessly bullied for a year and a half while administrators ignored her pleas for help has filed a $2 million federal civil rights lawsuit against the towns, the school district and three school officials.

Isabella Hankey alleges in the suit filed Monday the abuse included death threats and crude slurs carved into her car. She says the stress caused her to suffer a pulmonary embolism and finish her senior year elsewhere. The 18-year-old Hankey alleges the bullying was reported to school administrators, but they took no action.

Her lawyer tells The Boston Globe ( ) the suit is one of the first brought since the state’s anti-bullying law took effect in May 2010.

The defendants either refused comment or could not be reached.
