Out writer-director Abe Sylvia spent close to seven and a half years getting his debut feature, Dirty Girl, made and into theatres—at least some theatres. After a hot bidding war at the 2010 Toronto Film Festival where the film premiered and theatrical runs last fall in New York and Los Angeles, Weinstein, the movie's distributor pulled Chicago and other cities from its release schedule. Now, with the film arriving on DVD, movie fans in the Windy City will finally have a chance to check out Sylvia's energetic little road comedy.

"One day I was walking down the street singing the song The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow I was met by a group of boys who did not like my singing and proceeded to beat me up for it. Later that night my mother told me that I was different and artistic and some day the world will understand me and appreciate me. Mom was right, I got to dance on broadway and now I am the director of my very own movie and people finally accept me for who I am. Always remember that if you are stuck with a day thats gray and lonely just remember that the sun will come out tomorrow".
