He's knocked up Ashlee Simpson, but still gets called a gay. Now Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz has blasted homophobia by appearing on the cover of Out magazine - and calling himself a "f*g".
Pete, who has bragged about making out with men and enjoys shocking his audiences by licking and kissing his bandmates on stage, says that "homophobia is the last acceptable hatred."
"Whenever you say that homophobia is stupid, you just get called gay," he told Out. "There is a sense of self-empowerment or recapturing who you are by people calling you ‘f*g,’ and being like, ‘Yeah, I am a f*g.' Even though you’re not. What does somebody respond?”
Pete told the magazine he had been bullied and called 'gay' for years.
“When I’m going down the street I get called a f*g all the time,” he says. “We have iPhones, and I’m still getting called the same names as when I was 13.”
Regardless, Mr. Ashlee makes no apologies for his man-on-man antics.
“When I said that I make out with dudes, there was a slight sense of sexual rebellion in that,” he told the mag. “And I probably even made it a bigger deal than it was.”
As for his own sexuality, he confessed" “I’ve always felt this relentless heterosexual drive.”

When you take such an aggressive approach to dealing with hate you wont make a lot of people happy with you but if you know deep down that its right you have to go with it
