I grew up on the east side of Long Beach and life was generally pretty good. When I was 6 or 7 years old I had been bullied by my older brother and his friends. At that time there were no kids in my neighborhood my age and allot of oder kids my brothers age (around) 15 or 16 years old i'd say. The older guys would always punch me to see if i'd cry or karate kick me, after the first few times I did cry (a few times) but after that, I never gave them the satisfaction.
I would laugh at them when they hit me, call them bad names and fight back as hard as I could. Sometimes that would work and some of them stopped bullying me, but others just got madder and kept on with the treatment.

Besides that... the biggest bullying incident that always sticks out in my mind is when all the older kids decided they wanted to see if I was stronger than a huge dog that was in our neighborhood. The dog was on the corner of a high traffic area and always barked at anything, it was a huge greyhound or mastiff - i'm not sure till this day. One day all the older guys found out the dog was in heat (it was a male by the way) and they thought it would be funny to see who was stronger the dog or the kid. Hmmm.. thats pretty funny right! I can laugh now but at that time it was terrifying - I didn't know if the dog was going to attack me or kill me? After a long struggle to stay on the outside of the fence, all the kids succeeded to throw me over the fence!!! I was so scared as the dog circled me and barked at me! All the guys thought it was the funniest thing they'd ever seem from the laughing I heard on the other side of the fence. I could see eyeballs thru the cracks in the wooden fence and some guys were on top of it, just sitting there and laughing... rooting for the dog. I tried to get out of the yard but the guys would block me. As I tried to escape the dog tacked me like he was a football player, you see the dog was way bigger than the 7 year old me. I tried and tried to escape but the dog kept overpowering me and I couldn't get away! All I can remember next Is waking up at my house and thinking it was a dream - but it wasn't. I had scrapes and scratches all over. What happened was (I found out later) I had passed out from fear and exhaustion and one of the guys felt sorry for me and picked me up on his shoulder and took me home around the corner.

Well thats the story... I'm fine now and have no issues with dogs. I can laugh at the story now!

Thats beyond bullying thats borderline criminal behavior! You must have a better sense of humor than I do because I dont think that funny at all. You could have been seriously injured or even killed!
