Dear bullies (there is more than one of you),

Last year was very hard for me. You all picked on me to the point of me going home crying on most school days. You starred at me when I walked by like I was an alien, you made fun of my teeth loud enough so I could hear, you made gagging noises when I danced at our homecoming dance with a boy, and so much more.

I don’t know if you realize how horrible it feels to be teased. I know you are all popular and don’t have to worry about bullies, but please realize that it does hurt, more than you can probably imagine.

School starts next week for all of us, and I have been so nervous to start thinking I am going to get tormented again. If you could find it in your heart to knock it off and leave me alone this year, I would appreciate it.

Thank you.

Oscar, please don't let these low life individuals bring you down. You are so much stronger than they are! I too was bullied in high school, but I graduated, went to college and earned my bachelor's degree and I just recently married the love of my life and own a gorgeous home with him. I can be an example that things DO get better after high school, it is such a minor part of your life. And I guarantee that you will go on to do so much more in your life than those who torment you do, because you will gain strength from their hatred. Just know their cruel words come from an insecure place and that they have targeted you because you have something they want. Life will get better after you graduate, that is when it really gets exciting and you will meet wonderful people who have been through the same experiences you have that you can bond with. Just know that you will move past these pathetic individuals and that any dream or goal you have, you can accomplish! A cheesy but motivational quote from a movie that I love and apply to my life is from Dory in Finding Nemo, "Just keep swimming!".
