The Wolverine star said his anger was sparked after his mother left his father and his five siblings behind in Australia when he was 8, when she returned to Britain.
He said the siblings were left to fend for themselves after school, allowing his older brother to pick on him.
Jackman told Live magazine: 'It was survival of the fittest and I was the smallest. My older brother Ralph used to bully me and one day I chucked a chair at him – it smashed and I picked up the bottom of the chair and swung it at him.'
'He was taunting me and I thought, 'I'm going to have to k*ll him, because if I just knock him out he's going to wake up and then he's going to k*ll me.'
Meanwhile, the star says his rage would be mixed with bravado in the school yard, adding: 'I would just bang my head against the metal locker at school – we had headbutting competitions to see who could buckle the metal.
