It all started in elementary school. I was actually bullied by my cousins. They grew up wild with no discipline or limits. At first it was just playful and after it continued to happen over the years I learned to live with it. But, because of it I had other problems such as being self conscious and depressed. I had never mentioned this to anyone ever even to this day. The moment I realized that I was actually being bullied my whole childhood was when I moved away on my own to start my life over. It was a relief and I actually felt like a new person with no worries of being bullied or pushed around by anyone. Now I believe I am a very successful person. I have a great career and I can buy just about anything I want without being criticized about what it is or how cool it isn't. But even now I still have moments when I feel like I am being bullied at work. It is not as bad as it was when I was a child but it still bothers me some. I usually just play along and act like it doesn't bother me but, you can only do this for so long before its to late. It feels good to be able to express how I feel and tell my story on here. I just hope that someone can relate to this story a little and realize that bullies are everywhere. You just have to speak up for yourself and get the help you need. A lot of people are probably just like I was and they have not realized it yet but they are being bullied. So if you feel like you are being bullied find someone to talk to. Whether it is someone going through the same things that you are or someone you can trust. Just talk to someone and get it off of your chest.

Isn't it crazy that after you make it through high school, you sometimes run into it at work? If someone was making fun of me at work, I would look at them and say, "Now how did that make you feel? Are you done? Hope you feel better about yourself", smile (like your holding in laughing at them) and then turn and walk away and I bet they would feel like a real idiot. Act like you don't care and that they are making a fool of themselves.

Hope things get better Sean! Thank you for sharing.

I am inspired by your story. I have a child who was bullied by a teacher. Unfortunately, you are right about bullies being everywhere. It is just so sad that someone who is supposed to be teaching life lessons taught my child one that has affected her so deeply in a negative way.
