Ben Eaves is a British basketball player who currently plays for APOEL in Cyprus.Eaves played a post-graduate year in the United States at Worcester Academy. Following his post-graduate experience, he played one season with the University of Connecticut before transferring to the University of Rhode Island. Playing three more season with the Rams, Eaves would finish his senior year averaging 3.1 points and 2.5 rebounds in 12.4 minutes.Eaves started his professional career in 2011 with Cypriot team APOEL.
Plymouth Raiders star Ben Eaves visited Alternative Complementary Education (ACE) Services in Martins Gate, Bretonside.ACE Services provides full time education and support for up to 300 pupils aged four to 18, who are no longer in mainstream schools. Ben gave a presentation on discrimination and bullying to some of our Key Stage 3 and 4 pupils, to target any individuals that might be involved.
“Ben spoke about how he was picked on at school for his height, saying how difficult it was to be different.
“It was good for the kids to know what people go through - the pupils here are removed from mainstream school so they are a good audience for this project to target.
“Often they have had to leave schools because of bullying or behavioural issues.
“The session will help to support the curriculum in PHSE lessons and it’s another demonstration for the kids to latch onto, its great for people like this to come in and encourage and motivate our young people.”
