Actor Oscar Torre - in the new movie COUNTERPUNCH and starring in the upcoming Hangover III
When I was in 9th grade I switched schools mid semester, so I could go play baseball at a school that had a team. I found myself in an environment where there were a lot of bullies that had been kicked out of other schools. These kids really acted as if they owned the school. Being the new kid in class, I was immediately tested. They wanted to know if I was afraid of them. I was but I never showed it. I stood my ground and didn't back down. After a while, they left me alone and I just mostly kept to myself. The following year I transferred schools and luckily never felt bullied again. Years later I realized, those bullies were in reality as afraid as I was. They just hid their pain and fear by bulling those who seemed weaker. It was a difficult time in my life but I grew and learned from the experience. Things do get better!

Being able to understand the root of the bullying helps a lot with letting go of the resentment and just moving on with your life
