Amelia Lily has revealed that she was bullied at school for her dream of becoming a singer.
The singer, who appeared on the 2011 series of The X Factor, told the Daily Star that her new-found fame has made her unsure of who she can rely on.
Lily explained: "It's so hard to know who to trust. I found out who my true friends were very quickly. I didn't have a lot of mates at school and was bullied a lot for wanting to sing.
"When I got into The X Factor, they all started contacting me out of the blue but I ignored it all."
She added: "I'm very grateful to the few good friends and close family I do have in my life."
Lily said there are other downsides to fame, such as being noticed on the street and having to limit what she does day to day.
"I'm not able to go out and do everything I want," she said.
"I can't just go to a nightclub or see friends. I do feel watched when I go out and feel under pressure. But I try to keep an open mind and not behave too differently."
Lily recently admitted she was excited to have beaten X Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos in the charts with her debut single 'You Bring Me Joy'.
