I grew up in a school that sports was everything so if you were bad then you heard it from everyone. I was a pretty skinny kid and too tall for my age so I was never really coordinated. I would be called names like gumby and string bean. Kids used to make it a part of their every day routine just to tell me how much of a dork I was and that I sucked at everything. I would really cry sometimes because I would try very hard to prove them wrong so when I would still fail I would be*t myself. I got laughed off the basketball court, football field, and baseball field too many times to count. Always wanting to be a part of the athletes so girl would want to be around me and other guys would think I was cool. Typical for any kid in school trying to fit in but it would keep me up at nights wanting it so badly. I always thought if I could be good at one sport then I could be known as the guy who is good at that. Instead I was just the kid who failed at everythhing. It wasnt until about my senior year in high school did I start to get attention from girls but not because I was good at sports but because I was someone who would treat you with kindness and respect. No matter how many terrible names I was called or how many times they rejected me I would never lash out. By the time the kids I grew up with started to come around I was on my way out the door to college but it started me build up to success. Keeping my head and always trying is what got me to where I am today. Not giving up and saying everyone hates me or trying to make excuses that I will never be good enough. I always tried my best. Always. Now looking back on my life I can be satisfied that no matter what happened I gave it everything that I had and I did it with class. -RM
