Brynne Edelsten has revealed that she was bullied as a child.
The Australian socialite, who is currently taking part in the Australian version of Dancing with the Stars, said that she was picked on and labelled "anorexic" by her classmates in the US for being so skinny.
Edelsten told New Idea magazine: "It sounds silly looking at me now [because of my curves]. My mum used to tell me that kids can be mean when they're jealous. You've just gotta take it and move on."
Edelsten was recently described as a "bedazzled sack of potatoes" by Dancing with the Stars judge Josh Horner. Although she looked visibly upset by his comments, she said that she only saw them as "constructive criticism".
Horner later praised Edelsten for her "grace" and "dignity", saying: "The way you handled yourself Brynne this week, it makes me adore you even more. The way that you said, 'It's going to drive me to improve and be better,' it just labels you literally the bravest woman on television. Australia adores you.''
Edelsten was also mocked by host Sonia Kruger, who referred to her 67-year-old husband as her "dad". Kruger later said that she was "mortified" that she might have hurt Edelsten's feelings.
Other stars taking part in the reality TV show include newsreader Samantha Armytage, model Nick Bracks and sports WAG Haley Bracken
