Being blessed with drop-dead good looks may seem like a surefire path to popularity, but for model turned actress Shay Mitchell, high school was a rough experience. "Girls who used to be my friends bullied me. Instead of eating lunch in the cafeteria, I'd find the quietest place at school and eat by myself," she remembers. It was only after the Canada native changed her perspective that she finally worked up the courage to face her foes. "I realized that bullying never has to do with you. It's the bully who's insecure," she says. "So I went back to the cafeteria and sat myself down, and when the girls walked by, I just smiled like they didn't bother me!"
As someone who knows firsthand how it feels to be an outsider, 23-year-old Shay was thrilled when she snagged the role of Emily Fields, a competitive swimmer struggling with her sexuality, on the ABC Family series Pretty Little Liars. "There are so many shows and movies where the lesbian character is either glorified or portrayed as an outcast. I get a lot of tweets from fans who relate to Emily and realize that they can just be themselves," she shares.
With a television hit already under her belt, the rising star can now add Pantene spokesperson to her résumé. "I've always used their shampoo and conditioner, so when the company called me, I freaked out!" confesses Shay, who relies on Pantene's Nature Fusion Smooth Vitality line to tame her naturally textured hair. "I love that you can find the brand anywhere, it truly works, and it's not expensive," she adds. To create her signature "bouncy, Barbie hair," she swears by Pantene's Medium-Thick Mousse. When it comes to makeup, though, she keeps it clean and simple with a little Jouer tinted moisturizer, a swipe of CoverGirl LashBlast mascara, and a touch of shimmery highlighter on her nose and cheekbones. But there's nothing like hitting the gym to make a girl feel confident, according to Shay: "I bring my iPod loaded with my favorite songs and just go to work!"

Smiling at your enemies always drives them up the wall, good tactic:) If I went to your school I would kick everyone off my table so we could have lunch together!
