Karen Huff, A Bus Monitor, Bullied On A Bus

The video of Karen Huff Klein, a bus monitor for the Greece School District in Greece, N.Y., is the most upsetting bullying video I have yet to see.  This poor lady was on the bus doing her job and was harassed by a group of teenagers that were tormenting her.

Once this video surfaced on YouTube, a Reddit user razorsheldon posted a call to arms in support of the school official that was, like most of us, brought to tears by the group of kids.

From Reddit:

Now, as awful as this was, there was a silver lining in not only the universal condemnation of the actions of these kids, but also in a call for support for this poor woman. Her name is Karen Klein, and if you are so compelled, please feel free to reach out to offer support. She has been a widow for 17 years, has lived in the same town she grew up in and is about to have her 50th high school reunion in the same school district, and deserves so much better than the actions shown by those in this video. Let's show her that there are still good people out there...

In the upsetting YouTube video, the teenagers taunt and harass Klein, calling her an "ugly fat ass" and telling the widow, "You don't have a family because they all killed themselves because they don't want to be near you."

The Greece School District and Greece Police Department are now facing pressure from the community to take action and launch an investigation to get these kids punished.  It is said that the kids will “face disciplinary action.”

The Reddit call to arms has received a lot of comments from people showing their support.  One comment that stuck out was a local radio show that admired Klein’s lack of response when being bullied.

Patrice Walsh tweeted about one of the worst parts of the bus ride for Klein:

“Karen Klein said one comment hurt the most--kids said ‘you're so ugly your kid should kill themselves’ Her son took his life 10 yr ago.”

People have come together to donate for Klein so that she can take a vacation or retire early.  More than 5,700 people from all across the world have donated over $110,000, people donating anywhere from $1-$1,000.
